We recently posted about sub-base preparation work, and here we have another example. This time we were preparing a surface for self-draining block pavers at a new car park at Bulford, Wellington Somerset.

A good sub-base is extremely important before applying the surface layer. The photos below show us preparing a sub-base, using type 3 stone, at Crosskeys, Taunton. The stone is raked out and then compacted to form a solid, level base. This driveway will then layed with South Cerney stone for a great finish.
